It is not recommended to drive by car to the university's main campus, since only limited public parking is available.

How to get from the airport to the University?

Take the S8 (S-Bahn) from the airport to the city. You can buy a one-way-ticket at the ticket machine for 11 EUR. Get off at “Marienplatz” and take the U3 (direction: Moosach) or U6 (direction: Garching-Forschungszentrum) and get off at the second station which is “Universität”.

How to get from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) to the University?

Take the S-Bahn (any one from S1 to S8; direction “Ostbahnhof”) and get off at “Marienplatz” (second station). Then take the U3 (direction: Moosach) or U6 (direction: Garching-Forschungszentrum) and get off at “Universität”.
